The Catalina Explained

Explore the aeronautical world in the Catalina chronograph featuring the best aesthetics from the world of pilot and divers. The Catalina offers a timeless blend of proportion, robustness and readability combining large skeleton divers’ hands on a clean pilot dial. Equipped and protected by a distinctively shaped nondirectional rotatable bezel and a retro boxed sapphire crystal – this watch stands out with its authentic and thought-through design.

The Catalina watch case measures 41 mm with a 20 mm lug-space. The chronograph runs for 60 minutes with a center positioned second hand that sweeps with 5 steps per second. Dial and hands luminates in green and are easy to read in both daylight and darkness. Waterproofness reaches 10 atm / 100 meter.

When using your MALM watch, the watch will be exposed to different types of stresses and strains. Like many other advanced watches and gauges, a very large number of components share a very limited amount of space and like other valuable items you should treat your MALM watch with great care. It is important that you do not expose the watch to unnecessary impacts, chemicals, solvents, hazardous gases, magnetic fields or very cold or hot environments.

The timepiece should be serviced and maintained regularly to work properly. Such services should be performed by MALM or a professional watchmaker for warranty terms to apply. We offer many service options for your watch, from repairing and replacing worn components, pressure testing, resealing, cleaning to polishing, engraving and change dials and more.

For information how to operate and care for your watch, read our manual here.

The watch runs on a movement from Seiko called VK64 which is a combination of quartz technology and traditional mechanical engineering. Hour- minute and second hands runs on battery and the chronograph runs on the mechanical parts with a 1/5 second sweeping hand.

The watch comes in an exclusive box that both protects it and is the perfect display. Beside the watch and any additional strap, the box also includes:

- The necessary tool to switch or adjust your bracelet or strap
